Roofing, Re-roofing & Asbestos Removal
What do we do?
Certified Asbestos Removal
Roof replacement typically starts with an assessment of the current roof's condition and any challenges that may arise during the replacement.
In addition to the scoping, there will be an analysis of the roof's structural strength. For wooden trusses and purlins, the structure must be in good condition; if not, repairs will be needed to ensure stability. The same applies to roofs made of steel.
All required roof sheet sizes and flashings will be measured, and costs and timelines will be assessed after this step.
To remove asbestos, the first step is to get a WIR waste producer number for the site. This allows for the legal disposal of asbestos waste at the Vissershok waste disposal plant.
Certified AIA (Asbestos Investigating Authority) monitoring is required during all asbestos work. This includes checking air quality for clearance after asbestos removal.
Asbestos must be disposed of properly: wrap and seal all asbestos bags with duct tape, and cover all waste bins with DPC.
It's essential to follow all safety rules and take preventive steps. This means that everyone working near asbestos must wear full personal protective equipment (PPE) and properly dispose of all asbestos and materials containing asbestos.
All workers must wear a harness connected to a lifeline when working at height.
After proper planning, roof sheets and flashings will be ordered and delivered to the site.
Usually, the number of roofing sheets taken off will not be greater than what can be replaced in one day. This is to prevent leaving the roof open during bad weather.
After resheeting the roof, all required flashings and sealing will be done to ensure the structure is waterproof.
